Mark 7:20, "What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person's heart, that evil thoughts come - sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance, and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person."
We are all natural born sinners. We have nothing good in us - God is the ONLY good thing that lives in us. No one makes you think bad thoughts or do bad things except you. You are in control of your mind and your actions. So make sure that what you are putting out is a GOOD reflection of what you are taking in.
Before I got saved I lived a life that is very shameful, to say the least. Just thinking about what I have done in my past makes me want to put not only my head in that wash machine, but my whole body! From the music I listened to, to the dirty words that I spoke, to the awful things that I had done, I needed my brain washed bad!
To get to the heart of the problem. we need to begin with the problem of the heart. Before Jesus transforms us, we live with a heart and a mind that is cold, selfish, dirty, angry, dark, etc. It is a heart and a mind that is of this world. So before our outward appearance can change, our inward appearance much change. God changes us from the inside, out. He has transformed me so much drastically, I don't even recognize who I use to be. That is a person and a life that I never want to go back to. If you do not allow God to change you and your way of life, you will continue to do the same sinful things over and over again. We can try on our own to clean ourselves us, but we will fail every time.
The day Jesus saved me I was more than willing to allow him to wash me clean with His blood. He saw how dirty and filthy my brain was. So when people ask me if I am brainwashed, I say, "Absolutely! My brain needed to be washed!"
Allow God to come into your heart and mind today - allow Him to brainwash you as white as snow.
