To become a Christian, a person must be humbled. It is a time in your life when you realize that YOU alone can't live this life without a Savior. If our lives and hearts are full of pride, there is no room for being humble. It is the meek, mild and humble that Jesus will rise. God will break the hips and hands of the arrogant. But the trials and tribulations we face, will bring out the sins we need to confess, repent of, and grow in Christ.
The economics of the Kingdom of God are opposite of our economy. The rich and famous are on the top of OUR economy, but the poor sinners and shepherds are at the bottom. It is at the bottom where Jesus lifts us from. When the good news of Jesus Christ was born, God chose the broken, unwanted shepherds to be the first to know about it and to announce it to the others. It was not the Pharisees or the Priests. Jesus is called "The Friend of Sinners," praise The Lord! Self-righteous people are quick to judge and the most difficult to humble. But not one single person is born righteous, we are all born into this broken world, broken! Praise God we have a Savior who puts our broken pieces back together.
